Orano and Calogena announce a strategic partnership dedicated to the development of nuclear power for low-carbon district heating

At the World Nuclear Exhibition, the international civil nuclear trade show, Orano and Calogena announced the signing of a partnership agreement aimed at strengthening their collaboration on the CAL30 small modular reactor project. Developed by Calogena, the CAL30 is a new-generation light water reactor, classified as an SMR (Small Modular Reactor), with a thermal power of 30 MW. It is specifically designed to provide carbon-free energy to district heating networks, thereby responding to the challenges of energy transition and decarbonisation in local areas.
